With it being Fall, pumpkin season is in full swing here! I’ve made a few different pumpkin cookies recipes, and these are definitely my favorite! They are really soft with just the right amount of spice. Many people make their own gluten free all purpose flour mix, and I have in the past as well. Refried Cuban Black Beans w/Extra Veggies
I’ve made “refried” beans with other recipes, but this one is the best. And it’s freezer and prep-ahead friendly! I also love that I can get in a lot of extra veggies this way! Black beans seem to work best for hiding a lot of extra veggies, but I’ve used pinto beans as well. Both options are delicious. Spinach & Artichoke Dip (Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, and Vegan Too!)
I have a really yummy recipe for a restaurant-style spinach and artichoke dip. This is not that recipe. However, this allergy-friendly version is pretty tasty! And even better, it’s vegan, which means of course that it’s free of eggs and dairy. It’s also soy free, which is often not the case with vegan recipes. And, of course, it’s gluten-free too. Not only that, but it contains nutritional yeast. Allergy-Friendly Pumpkin Pie Custard
I made this pumpkin pie for my girls for Thanksgiving, from a recipe in the He Won’t Know It’s Paleo AIP Holiday e-book. Since then I have modified the recipe a bit to make it a little less spicy and a little sweeter. I also skip the crust and just make the custard. Allergy-Friendly Animal Crackers (GAPS, Paleo, Grain-Free, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Egg-Free, Nut-Free, Soy-Free)
If you are on a special diet like GAPS, SCD, or Paleo, you can easily find recipes for crackers, and even pre-packaged store-bought items. However, if you also have allergies or food intolerances, it can be VERY difficult to find recipes that meet your dietary requirements. I have tried a few sunflower seed cracker recipes, and this one is by far the tastiest. My girls love these crackers, and I send them with Lily for a portable and non-messy preschool snack! We’ve been slowly expanding the girls’ diet, including more Full GAPS foods. We are still pretty restricted in terms of allergy foods, so it can be tricky to come up with tasty treats.
