I have a really yummy recipe for a restaurant-style spinach and artichoke dip. This is not that recipe. However, this allergy-friendly version is pretty tasty! Morning Smoothie Time Saver
See that delicious green smoothie? It’s even better when it’s quick and easy. Making a smoothie isn’t that time consuming compared to preparing dinner. However, there are quite a few steps and those minutes add up. I made this pumpkin pie for my girls for Thanksgiving, from a recipe in the He Won’t Know It’s Paleo AIP Holiday e-book. Allergy-Friendly Animal Crackers (GAPS, Paleo, Grain-Free, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Egg-Free, Nut-Free, Soy-Free)
If you are on a special diet like GAPS, SCD, or Paleo, you can easily find recipes for crackers, and even pre-packaged store-bought items. However, if you also have allergies or food intolerances, it can be VERY difficult to find recipes that meet your dietary requirements. I have tried a few sunflower seed cracker recipes, and this one is by far the tastiest. My girls love these crackers, and I send them with Lily for a portable and non-messy preschool snack! Several weeks ago (when it was still summer!) the kids and I took a little trip to a local farm to pick peaches. We’ve been slowly expanding the girls’ diet, including more Full GAPS foods. We are still pretty restricted in terms of allergy foods, so it can be tricky to come up with tasty treats. I was looking for an allergy-friendly gummy candy for my girls. I wanted treats for potty training, but a lot of the usual allergy-friendly treats are too messy or just not portable. Quick Weekday Lunch for Kids – Salmon Salad
Some days I just don’t feel motivated to make lunch. While I might be able to skip lunch, that’s not the case for my kids. On these days I usually open my fridge and stare into it for several minutes while completely drawing a blank on what to feed my kids. Pre-GAPS it was pretty easy. I could take out some allergy-friendly chicken nuggets or fish sticks, bake them in the oven, stick them on a plate with some ketchup and something easy on the side. Cauliflower Leek Soup
For some reason I was thinking about potato leek soup recently. My husband, son, and I could eat potato leek soup, but potatoes are too high-starch for our girls on the GAPS diet. Homemade Coconut Milk Yogurt!
I am excited to share this recipe. After doing a lot of reading on GAPS and SCD groups, I ordered this yogurt maker. I also ordered two glass jar inserts. The yogurt maker comes with an insert, but it’s plastic and I don’t like the lid. I started with one glass jar, but ordered a second so that I can start a batch while the other is still in the refrigerator. I’ve also been making dairy yogurt for myself, which is also really good.
